Laser Processing Automation Solutions – Stent Laser Cutting
Cardiovascular disease is a leading threat to human health. The precision processing of bare metal stents is critical—the stents must provide sufficient radial strength while maintaining flexibility when navigating through blood vessels. This involves carving nearly 600 micro‑grooves into cobalt‑chromium alloy wires as thin as a human hair. Coretech's SC series platforms provide a revolutionary approach to meeting the demanding requirements of stent manufacturing. By tightly integrating automated material laser cutting processes with high‑performance direct‑drive linear and rotary motion capabilities, they form fully integrated motion systems that deliver micron‑level geometric accuracy in sealed components while significantly increasing throughput.
SC Series Platform
The SC Series Stent Cutting Platform is equipped with CADbridge software, enabling advanced path planning functions. It can automatically adjust cutting speed to minimise path errors in the geometry of sealed stents. Advanced laser control functions automatically adjust laser power and firing intervals to minimise the heat‑affected zone as a function of cutting speed. With specially optimised control algorithms designed to handle the frequent direction reversals encountered in typical stent profiles, we further reduce following errors.
The linear axis is driven directly by a self‑developed linear motor, and the rotary axis is driven directly by a self‑developed rotary torque motor, offering fast response and high positioning accuracy.
Paired with a high‑performance motion controller, it easily achieves two‑axis linear‑rotary interpolation.
Frictionless rotary collets require no maintenance over their lifetime.
A streamlined, reliable cable management system ensures trouble‑free operation.
Precision ER25, ER40, or 3C collets support tubing with outer diameters from 0.3 mm to 30 mm, enabling the SC series to manufacture a wide variety of peripheral vascular, cardiovascular, and neurovascular stents.
Customisable fixtures are available, such as bushing alignment and manual or automatic material pre‑loading.
Rotary axis speed up to 2000 rpm.
